The global trend for foods that are healthy and free of artificial additives, which has made many people revaluate their eating habits, has also influenced the manufacturing of potato crisps and other popular salty snacks. The Latvian leader in this segment was Latfood, which became a part of Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija in early 2016, and together with sweets manufacturers Laima and Staburadze, it is now one of the largest manufacturers of sweet and salty snacks in the Baltic States. The company operates according to worldwide trends and its own internal standards regarding quality of ingredients and products, manufacturing processes, food safety and, of course, outstanding flavour, healthiness and comfortable use. In fact, Latfood even offers a special Nutrition Class that teaches participants how to enjoy snacks while keeping the principles of healthy nutrition in mind. It is precisely this skill at collaborating with clients, as well as the high quality of its products and manufacturing processes as dictated by various export markets, that have made Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija a strong player in this segment.
